Uniquely, ILO Client Choice Awards survey senior corporate counsel only, with this year's winners chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 individual client assessments.
Established in 2005, the International Law Office Client Choice Awards recognize those law firms and partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide and the quality of their service. The criteria for the awards focus on law firms' ability to add real value to their clients' business above and beyond the other players in the market.
Traditionally the awards have recognised one firm per jurisdiction but the research was extended this year to recognize individual partners who excel across the full spectrum of client service. One winner was chosen per work area per jurisdiction. Partners were assessed on the following criteria: quality of legal advice, value for money, commercial awareness, effective communication, billing transparency, tailored fee structures, response time, sharing of expertise and use of technology.
This year, ILO recognised 201 individual winners across 46 jurisdictions. Winning firms were chosen in 48 jurisdictions worldwide.
